Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning beauty and rewarding nature of the Steindalsbreen Glacier hike, calling it an unforgettable experience. While the trail is well-marked and offers incredible views, some find it quite demanding due to steep and slippery sections, emphasizing the need for proper gear and preparation.

"Beautiful hike and well worth the effort. I timed the way up on Strava and it took me 1h29 to get to the start of the lake. Worth a visit if you are around the Lyngen Alps :)"

Victoria Treue

"Superb hiking experience, with stunning views and gradual ascend without any major steep climbs along the way!

Trail is marked perfectly and along the way you get to enjoy amazing views of the surrounding mountains and turquoise water running through the river. Can recommend doing the hike and also taking a swim at the lake after a sweaty hike of 6 kilometers!"

Tomi Linna

"An absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. The hike is, in my opinion quite demanding. We are experienced hikers but did this on a day when it was 32 degrees and for over half of the route, there is no shade whatsoever. The route begins with steep uphill sections over rocks and boulders and then levels out into a reasonably flat easy walk through a valley then more hills across rocks as you reach the glacier. You will need proper hiking shoes for this one and I don't recommend it for anyone who has balance problems. The route, in places, runs alongside a very fast moving river and there is a risk to really hurt yourself if you slip. Take plenty of water and don't underestimate this hike. The distance doesn't seem much, but it feels much longer because of the terrain. But you will not be sorry you did it. I feel like this is a place you will remember for the rest of your life ❤️"
