What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Svartlamon is celebrated as a unique, 'free feeling' urban experiment in Trondheim, fostering a strong sense of community among artists, punks, and eco-enthusiasts. Visitors appreciate its unconventional architecture, vibrant arts scene, and the authentic, alternative lifestyle it represents. While it offers a glimpse into a different way of living, some find its 'rough around the edges' nature a bit challenging.

"What started as an anarchist community have now turned into something like a try-not-to-be gentrified commune of hippies, artists, punks, alcoholics and eco-fanatics. If you like village life, here it is, very close to the center of Trondheim. This included the obligatory village animal and a small bunch of selected village idiots. Also contains the world's only certified World Championship arena of Basse, a local sport consisting of kicking old destroyed bike wheels at eachother. The area feels a bit like Christiania in Copenhagen, only with less open drug sales and less bikers. Good assortment of cats though, wich boosts this into the 5 star review league."
