"🌄 Hidden Gem Stay at Jabal Shams – Sab bin Kamis Guest House 🏡
I recently had the chance to stay at Sab bin Kamis Guest House in Jabal Shams, and it was an unforgettable experience. First and foremost, I must mention the owner – a very kind, friendly, and easy-going person. From the moment I contacted him for booking, the process was smooth and comfortable.
What makes this guest house stand out?
The price is more than reasonable considering the facilities offered. It features:
A spacious BBQ area
Outdoor seating space surrounded by a beautiful grape yard
A fully-equipped kitchen (fridge, oven, gas stove)
A large hall perfect for group gatherings
2 bedrooms – one is a master with an attached bathroom, the other shares a common washroom
If you're planning a trip with family or a group of 6 friends, this is the ideal spot. The peaceful environment, fresh mountain air, and views just after the Grand Canyon viewpoint make it extra special.
🚙 Travel Tip:
If you're someone who enjoys off-roading, this place is a must-visit. Make sure to go with a 4WD vehicle to explore the area properly.
📶 Connectivity:
While mobile network can be weak in the area (which can actually be a blessing if you're looking to unplug!), the guest house has strong Wi-Fi, and we even managed to stream movies at night without any issues.
🍽️ Food:
Food isn’t included in the stay – that’s one thing to keep in mind. The owner can help arrange meals from a nearby house, but personally, I found the pricing a bit high (around 15 OMR for dinner and breakfast combined). My suggestion: bring your own food and ingredients. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there's even a full BBQ setup available – just don't forget your charcoal!
🎯 Final Verdict:
If you're looking for a quiet, scenic escape from city life, this place is perfect. It has all the comfort you need and is great for creating lasting memories. My only regret was not bringing our own food – so if you go prepared, you’re in for a truly fantastic experience.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended for nature lovers, off-roaders, and peaceful getaways!"
