"Oman Aquarium at Mall of Muscat is an absolutely amazing place and one of the best family attractions in the city. From the moment you step in, it feels like an underwater adventure brought to life. The variety of marine life is impressive—you can see puffer fish, eels, tortoises, a giant snake, starfish, and many others up close. The glass lift runs right beside the huge main tank, giving you a stunning view of the aquatic world as you go up and down. One of the most breathtaking parts is the aquarium tunnel, where you walk beneath a sea of fish, sharks, and stingrays swimming right above your head—it’s magical!
What made the experience even more special was the bird zone. You can gently hold and interact with friendly birds flying freely around you. One of the parrots, named Rayan, happily landed on my shoulder and even playfully bit my ear—it was such a fun and unforgettable moment!
They also have African penguins and other reptiles, which are all fascinating to watch.
The ticket options are well thought out. The Silver ticket gives you full access to the aquariums. The Gold ticket includes everything in Silver plus extras like fish feeding and close-up tortoise encounters. The Platinum ticket adds a personal tour guide for a more curated experience. I was very impressed by how clean, well-managed, and spacious the place is. It wasn’t too crowded, and the staff were polite, helpful, and informative throughout.
I’m already looking forward to attending many of their special shows in the future—like the diving show, ray feeding, and penguin feeding sessions. There’s even a scuba diving experience available, which I couldn’t try this time, but it’s definitely on my list for next visit. Overall, Oman Aquarium is an unforgettable experience filled with nature, learning, fun, and wonder. Highly recommended!"

"I recently visited the Oman Aquarium and, unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations — especially considering the high ticket prices. The Gold Ticket is priced at 11 OMR and Silver at 8.5 OMR. I opted for the Gold thinking it would offer a more enriching experience, but it fell flat.
The "fish feeding" included in the Gold ticket was nothing extraordinary — just a basic, underwhelming activity. The only noticeable addition over the Silver ticket was a small section with some turtles, which again wasn’t anything particularly special or worth the extra cost.
At the entrance, they take your photo, presumably for a souvenir or keepsake. However, there is no point during the visit — neither mid-way nor at the exit — where you can view or purchase these photos. There were no staff members around to assist or provide any information about it either.
One of the biggest letdowns was the lack of detailed information about the marine life. Most displays did not have sufficient descriptions or educational content about the species, which defeats the purpose of visiting an aquarium that should ideally be informative and interactive.
Overall, the aquarium has potential but needs significant improvement in terms of value for money, staff presence, and educational content. Unless these aspects are improved, I wouldn't recommend it, especially at the current ticket rates.
