"Allama Muhammad Iqbal, born 9 Nov 1877 in Sialkot, rose from modest roots to become Pakistan’s national poet, philosopher, and chief architect of the vision for a separate Muslim homeland .¹ ² His verses—Sare Jahan se Accha and Lab pe Aati Hai Dua—still pulse through classrooms and rallies, while his political essays urged Muslims toward self‑determination, earning him titles like Muffakir‑e‑Pakistan (the Thinker) and Shair‑e‑Mashriq (Poet of the East) .

Iqbal’s final resting place, the Mazar‑e‑Iqbal, sits beside the Badshahi Mosque within Hazuri Bagh, Lahore. Designed by Nawab Zain Yar Jang Bahadur in classic Mughal style, the tomb is a red‑sandstone rectangle trimmed with Makrana marble; its eastern and southern gates are inlaid with white marble, and the cenotaph itself is pure white marble. A lapis‑lazuli tombstone, a gift from Afghanistan, bears Quranic verses in elegant calligraphy. Inside, six couplets from his Persian work Zabur‑e‑Ajam are etched on the walls. "A Soul Stirring Visit to Allama Iqbal's Tomb My First Time

Visiting the tomb of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal for the first time was nothing short of a dream come true. I had read so much about him the visionary poet, the philosopher of the East, the man whose words ignited revolutions and awakened nations. But nothing I had read or imagined could prepare me for the feeling of actually being there.

As I walked into the serene garden surrounding his mausoleum, a strange silence wrapped around me. And then I saw it his tomb, majestic yet humble, a symbol of timeless greatness. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The man whose poetry I had admired for years, whose words had touched my heart and mind so deeply I was standing just a few steps away from his final resting place. The thought that I had come this close to him the Poet of the East, the thinker, the king of words was overwhelming.

I slowly walked around the mausoleum, touching its walls gently, almost not believing that this was real. It felt like touching history itself sacred, powerful, and humbling. My mind kept repeating, “Is this really happening? Am I really here?” It was as if time had stopped, and I was in the presence of something beyond this world.

I can't fully explain what I felt in that moment. It was a mixture of awe, reverence, gratitude, and something spiritual as if I had connected with a part of our collective soul, with a man whose legacy still breathes life into our identity.

Standing there, I realized how blessed I was to witness the final resting place of someone who gave our people not just hope, but purpose. His poetry was never just words it was a call to action, a mirror for the soul, and a vision for a greater tomorrow.

That visit will forever stay in my heart. It wasn’t just a stop on a trip it was a personal pilgrimage."
