Reviews Summary

Carenero Island is praised for its pristine natural beauty, serene beaches, and tranquil atmosphere, offering a peaceful escape from the mainland. Visitors enjoy hiking the island's trails and the clear waters for swimming and surfing. However, some find the island lacks luxury, with occasional issues of trash and annoying sand flies, leading some to prefer other islands.

"This a pristine island so don't expect luxury just enjoy the nature and wildlife. Swimming is awesome and the trail through the island is surreal. Enjoy!"

Lejla Visnjic

"We loved hiking around the island, the beautiful beach views, etc. Be aware that gmaps trail is not accurate. The trail doesn't go all the way around the island as shown on the map but there are 2 trails, both well marked, to cross thru the middle to the other side. Why 3 stars? Tons of super annoying sand flies with itchy bites!! Bring repellant or dress for it."

Tim Traveler

"This island is surprisingly mesmerizing. Would suggest going on the uninhibited part of the island to get the best views, most quiet and beautiful beaches. The hike is really worth it. We were accompanied by a local lab the whole time. He was rather playful. It’s a good experience for sure. Hike the whole trail and bring water with you."
