Reviews Summary

Visitors acknowledge the historical significance of the Vasco Núñez de Balboa Monument, especially its impressive illumination at night. While some find it a simple landmark in a park, others appreciate its connection to Panama's history and the explorer's legacy.

"Vasco Nuñez de Balboa - an important Spanish explorer of the 16th century and founder of the first Spanish settlement in Panama. So important for the country that its local currency is named after this person - and, of course, one of the most important local beers."

D Henrick

"Vasco Nunez de Balboa was a Spanish explorer who was lead across Panama in 1513 by locals from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific coast (at that time known as Sea of the South). A man of the 15th and 16th centuries his life's history is a mixture of oral tradition and written documentation. He did establish the first Spanish city in the Panama and was leader accused of treason and executed in 1519. The statue is nicely illuminated at night"

K Day

"Nothing great besides a monument in the middle of a park by the water."
