Reviews Summary

Recoleta Cemetery is widely praised for its stunning architecture and historical significance, often described as a 'city of the dead' with intricate mausoleums. However, many reviews note a concerning state of disrepair in some areas, with exposed coffins and a general lack of upkeep, leading to a mixed experience for visitors.

"Beautiful older cemetery with some amazing architecture. It was a pleasant visit, and I was respectful of those who had passed away."

David Rumptz

"I could not believe the state of this cemetery. So many of the mausoleums and tombs are damaged or destroyed, the coffins are exposed, broken and sometimes wide open with visible human rests! So be prepared and do not come here with children. If you decide to visit anyway stick to the main path if you don't want to risk unpleasant sights. There were no guards when we got there.
Such a shame that a cemetery and historical place is so unrespect and abandoned."

"Don't come here at night....
