Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Taricaya Ecological Reserve as an amazing place for jungle exploration and wildlife encounters, highlighting its dedication to animal rescue and conservation. While accommodations are basic, the fulfilling volunteer activities and the opportunity to make a difference in the Amazon rainforest are consistently praised.
"amazing place!! we had great time to explore the jungle, know the history and environment of this area. also saw a lot of animals here."
Tracy L
"Ahh, Taricaya, a lovely place in the middle of the Peruvian jungle. After a boat ride of one and a half hours I arrived in Taricaya where I would stay for the next 2 months. And boy, did I enjoy those two months!
After disembarking I was introduced to my roommates who eventually showed me around Taricaya. The place itself is pretty basic, it's not the cleanest place on earth, but what they stand for is what they are good at. which is: rescueing animals and releasing them back into the wild. At Taricaya they care for the animals with their heart and soul and you'll feel that every person there is dedicated to giving the animals the best life they can possibly have until they are released again.
The activities in Taricaya are diverse and fun. I have rarely had an activity that I do not look forward to. From feeding animals, to clearing trails, to checking the camera traps. It's all fun and fulfilling work. If you want to experience life in the jungle whilst also being involved in helping wild animal populations then this is the place to be!"
