San Pedro Church is a highly recommended religious site in Cusco, praised for its beautiful Andean Baroque architecture, stunning gold leafed retablo, and interior religious art. Visitors appreciate its peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity to attend meaningful nightly masses. Some find the exterior can be busy due to its proximity to the market, and photography is prohibited inside.

"The church of San Pedro is one of the religious temples in Cusco. It is located in the square of the same name, in front of the oldest and most touristic food market in the city. The temple was built in 1688 in the space that used to be the natural hospital. It is made in an Andean baroque style. Inside there are canvases and sculptures with religious themes."

"Oh boy where do I start? We spent some time in the market right outside before exploring the church. It happen to be a day of celebration and we got caught up in a crowd and music from a marching band as an unexpected procession was beginning. It took a couple dozen men or more to carry each, a statue of the Virgin Mary and a statue of San Pedro. It was breathtaking but I was peopled out for the day. Uber had to go around a few blocks because of street closures but honestly it was a walkable distance Andi hadn't realized it. It was June 29th."

"Nightly mass is wonderful. As a Catholic, it’s nice to hear the priest. Tell you that if you have not gone to confession, you cannot get to communion! Very ordinate even if you don’t do the math definitely you should stop by."
