What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Malecón Grau offers scenic river views and a lively local atmosphere, especially in the evenings. While it's a popular gathering spot with food options, some visitors find it chaotic and may experience persistent vendor attention, which can detract from the experience.
"It's chaotic and there actually isn't much to see. The clocktower is cool, and if the surrounding gardens have fountains on, then those are worth checking out too. I wouldn't dedicate more than 20 mins here. The view of the Ucayali river is cool and the Rio Ucayali sign is nearby. Do not come here expecting peace or to be left alone if you are a foreign traveller. People will always pester you into buying something informally or cat-call you if you're a woman. Makes for a very uncomfortable experience and ruins some of the natural beauty of the plaza. Those things alone drop my rating to 2 stars."

"Nice place for locals for gatherings. But, for a foreigner is a no-no place. Everyone tries to harass you to sell things or to ask you where you are from. Why people don’t understand that you just want to enjoy the view and to appreciate the clock? Strange place or strange locals?🤔"
