What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
K'erenda Homet Ecopark is praised for its stunning riverside location and abundant wildlife, offering a truly immersive jungle experience. While accommodations are basic and show signs of wear, the exceptional hospitality of host Rosa and the unique natural setting make it a memorable stay for those seeking authenticity over luxury. The ecopark's conservation efforts also add a meaningful dimension to the visit.
"This is a lovely place!
But I must warn you, it has seen better times so if worn-down accommodations bother you, this might not be your ideal spot…
However I doubt you’ll find a better bungalow literally right on the riverbank, overlooking the flow of the Tambopata.
We stayed here for 4 nights, and the host, Keranda, is super nice and relaxed.
The bungalow has two floors: you sleep upstairs with a small terrace. There are two beds, one of them really big (our family of four fit comfortably on the two beds).
Downstairs there’s a small kitchen and a refrigerator. It’s really nice to make your own fried banana or cook a simple meal while the sun is rising over the river.
The garden is amazing!!
And, something we personally liked — but maybe not for everyone — is that wildlife is everywhere: frogs in the toilet, a baby tarantula on the floor, monkeys in the trees just outside, parrots flying overhead…
Tip: Avoid the mototaxis — they’re not keen to come out here and charge more. Regular taxis cost a fixed 20 soles from Plaza de Armas (July 2025) and the trip takes 15 minutes. You’ll arrive in a totally different world than Puerto Maldonado (which is also a sparkling, friendly little town worth exploring — safe and welcoming)."
