What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Gold Museum of Peru for its impressive and diverse collections, particularly the intricate gold artifacts and the extensive global arms and armor displays. Some find the admission price a bit high for the duration, and the gold collection can feel repetitive to some, but the unique weaponry section is a significant draw.
"Beautiful collection, although a little repetitive.
The museum is split in two levels: the bottom has all the gold collection as well as ancient tools of (pre)Inca culture. The upstairs section contains a huge collection of weapons, samurai armour and swords, and more.
If you are into weapons, you will love the upstairs bit. The gold collection was impressive."
Roos Kolkman
"Fun-sized collection. In the arms side, there are guns, rifles, swords and uniforms from many different places. Even a sword that belonged to Sultan Mustafa II of Ottoman Empire.
On the gold side, the most interesting to me were the mummies and other burial related items. Lots of gold but not much extraordinary except a couple of primary pieces."

"Lima has a lot of museums and based on your interests, you can visit them. I decided to visit this Gold Museum which has a special exhibit of Golden artifacts. The entry ticket to this museum is 40 soles. They also have a Mummy exhibit which was quite fascinating. Apart from that there are arms exhibits. One hour is enough to visit this museum. You can hire a guide as well. I found the prices a bit higher though."
