What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Cancalanog Falls is praised as a beautiful, natural swimming hole with crystal-clear waters, offering a peaceful escape in a jungle setting. While not a dramatic waterfall, it provides fun for swimming and jumping. Some visitors note the challenging road access and strict closing times, but the affordable entry fee and serene atmosphere make it a worthwhile destination for many.
"We weren’t able to visit the waterfall due to the unfriendly staff.
The entrance closes at 4:00 PM (make sure you’re not late), and visitors must leave the waterfall by 5:00 PM. We arrived at 4:10 PM, but they didn’t let us in, even though there were still people inside.
I understand that rules are rules, but this is a tourist site — and they knew we had traveled for an hour from Moalboal to visit the place but they didn’t let us even check the place to decide whether we want to come back the next day.
The waterfall seems nice. It’s more like a natural pool with crystal-clear water, ideal for jumping and swimming.
For drivers: if you’re not confident on narrow downhill roads, or if you’ve just rented a scooter and aren’t familiar with its limits, it’s better to park on the main road and walk for 15 minutes (800m signage)

"Such a fun little swimming hole! It's not really a waterfall if that's what you're looking for. However, you can still have loads of fun. There's a 50p entry fee, 20p more if you want to park your motorbike. Then a short walk to the water.
I had the privilege of jumping with a bunch of local kids who all have mastered their dive techniques! They're so brave. It was a bit rainy when I came, so I had the place to myself for awhile. Not a bad place to get stuck, to jump, to swim, to have fun!"

"Cancalanog Falls proved to be a delightful retreat, offering a perfect blend of tranquility and adventure. Though the journey, especially by car through the small, steep road, may be a bit challenging, the destination is undoubtedly worth it.
This hidden gem isn't widely known, and during our visit, we had the entire place to ourselves, accompanied by friendly locals. The small entry fee was a nominal expense for the enchanting experience that followed. We indulged in small jumps into the refreshing water, relishing a serene swim in the heart of the jungle. A must-visit for those seeking a peaceful escape off the beaten path!"
