What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the incredible underwater encounters at Pescador Island, particularly the mesmerizing sardine run and the chance to see sea turtles. While some note the impact of past typhoons on coral reefs, the marine life and unique dive sites like Cathedral Cave still offer a spectacular experience for snorkelers and divers alike.
"Anything underwater is a hit for me. Fishes and corals are abundant. We only snorkeled here because we have no diving experience. Most people say this is best for diving especially the one they called cathedral. But even just snorkeling here is still a wonderful experience. The sardine run is so awesome. There is a very thick school of sardines and it's such an amazing sight. The turtles are so big and gentle looking. Watching them swim is so mesmerizing. It was my first time to see a very large pawikan."

"Most of the coral around the island has been destroyed by the typhoon a couple of years ago.
We arrived before anyone else and got in the water.
There were some animals to see (a stone fish and lion fish) but honestly the majority of the coral is dead and there is not much life down there.
We were in one of the most populous spots for coral and animals.
It was also quite a bad sea so there was only one part of the island that we could snorkel in.
I don't think it is possible to get onto the island either. It does not have a beach.
It is quite a long boat trip out to not really see much."
Emily Hunsley
"Coral reefs have unfortunately been washed away due to the Dec 2021 Typhoon. They are currently in the midst of recultivating the reef. Take care not to trample on or damage the coral nursery! Still a pleasant experience snorkeling in the area despite not being able to see much. The currents can get very strong near the open sea so take care esp if you are not a strong swimmer."
