What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary for its incredible birdwatching opportunities and scenic stone walkways. The friendly rangers who lend binoculars and the low entrance fee are definite highlights. However, some find the lack of guides and the limited time limit a drawback, and it's noted as not being very senior or disability-friendly.
"Amazing experience and well worth a visit from Cebu. Tons of birds in the distance and friendly rangers that let you borrow their long binocular to see the birds in the distance. Lots of species. Fun to walk around. Not crowded with tourists."

"Next to the more famous marine sanctuary, is this lovely place. It has a superb stone walkway, which will give you some terrific photos. A viewpoint for watching birds is at the end, where some very friendly staff will help you with binoculars. Of course, the reward is hardly immediate, and you need patience and need to spend a good hour or so to get the most out of your experience here. Lovely place to visit."

"Masks are mandatory and you have a 30min time limit per group.
Pros: Easily accessible by tricycle, motorbike, bicycle from the pier; low entrance fee; free use of a pair of binoculars; viewing deck to observe the birds undisturbed in their natural habitat
Cons: no guide, you are on your own to spot and try to identify birds; not very senior or disability-friendly
Insider tip: go when the tide is low so that you won't have to get your feet wet crossing the stones to the viewing deck. Also, apparently more birds out when the tide is low"
