"My experience with Jose Rizal University has been extremely disappointing for several reasons:

Poor Campus Quality – The campus is in poor condition and does not give the impression of a well-maintained or reputable institution.

Unclear Instructions from Staff and Teachers – Many staff members and even some teachers give confusing or unclear instructions, making it hard for students to understand what to do.

Unprofessional Behavior in the PE Department – Some PE teachers seem unqualified to properly handle students. Instead of doing their own work, they often delegate tasks to others. They have also failed students for personal reasons, which is unfair. In addition, some have been disrespectful toward both students and guardians, raising their voices and acting as if they are above everyone else. One of them is grooming students.

Misuse of Student Funds – There are cases where it appears that money collected from students is being used for a teachers personal purposes.

Unprofessional Guards – The security guards often act as if they own the school, showing arrogance instead of being respectful unlike other schools who respect students.

Unhelpful Registrar and Accounting Staff – Staff in these departments often give unclear or unreasonable instructions, and they are unfriendly and condescending.

Elitist Student Culture – Some students act arrogantly, as if they are superior to others because of their financial status but they are cheap.

Overall, my experience has been marked by unprofessionalism, unclear communication, and a lack of respect from multiple parts of the university. These issues need serious attention if the school wishes to improve its reputation and the experience of its students."

Great way of teaching (from the teachers/professors I've encountered)

Cons:
accessibility - (gym), what I mean is unlike other schools that allow students to use the gym in their breaks (usually on their p.e uniform), jru doesn't. Yes varsity trains in the gym, but sometimes the gym is empty but yet not allowed to be used by students, it's also very hot, no fresh airflow, the hot air makes it hard to breathe sometimes.

Price (canteen) - the coke in can which should be just 34 pesos but sold as 58 pesos, which if I'm not wrong is about 70% Increase in price, for some 58 pesos is not much but it's regularly sold about 45 pesos or even 40. For the chips is reasonable increase of 10-11 pesos, sandwich/hot dog is 50 which isn't bad for some, and 100 pesos for a full meal is enough, over all prices are questionable but whatever.

Internet dead zones/WiFi connection - for some reason there is specific spots in rooms that has no signal (globe or smart), and there is a lot in classrooms I've been in the wifi's Connectivity is good but not great, back then (2024, when canvas was still existent) sometimes the WiFi won't even load canvas not even Google. (Not sure now if some students from hs or college is still experiencing this issue).

Administration (all levels) - The administration maintains a certain standard though improvement wouldn’t hurt, I've talked and met the principals of the school even the president, they are nice specially the new principal of elem, the president is nice outside and in school, although the hs principal on the other hand is pretty intimidating, and whenever you ask a question or come into the hs office, it's like she wants to rip your face off your body, talks nice Infront of students parents and at events, but without that, pretty bad attitude.

Chairs - no joke, the chairs needs to be retired soon, some look like they already went through a war.

Location - location is very accessible, but when It rains for too long be away that it sometimes floods a bit (not the schools fault but the city, just to get you a heads up)

In conclusion: JRU has its good sides lalo na sa academics at ilang approachable na professors. Pero hindi rin maiiwasan yung ilang problema, gaya ng minsang kulang sa updates, mabagal na proseso, at leadership na minsan parang disconnected. Hindi siya perfect, pero kung sanay ka sa diskarte, kakayanin. Hopefully, with some changes, mas magiging student friendly ang experience."
