"10/28/25. Subic Bay's Old West Gate.
So we decided to do an early holiday to avoid the All Saints Day (Undas) long weekend traffic and spend the rest of the week in Subic. We will be exploring the nearby towns of Bataan and Zambales.
First stop is the old Spanish Gate. This was the entrance of the original Spanish naval station established in Subic Bay in 1885.
Only ⭐⭐⭐ since the lawn behind the Gate is not well maintained. Nevertheless an important historical landmark in Subic Bay."

"The old Spanish Gate at Subic is the remnant of the naval installation established by the Spanish colonial authorities in 1885. Two cannons straddle the gate as a reminder of its military past. Two markers are installed on both sides of the gate giving information about its origin. One can visit the gate with no special permission needed and it is generally open to the public."
