What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Bahay Pastulan Good Shepherd for its delicious and classic Filipino treats, especially the ube jam and alfajores. Many appreciate the convenience of the location and the ample parking. The charitable mission of the Good Shepherd Sisters is also a significant draw for patrons. Some reviews mention a decrease in the size of certain products like peanut brittle compared to pre-pandemic times.
"The last time I was in Good Shepherd Baguio was prepandemic. During the pandemic their goodies were no longer sold in Greenhills tiangge because the shutdowns and quarantine only led to unsold items, according to one seller. So buying these after 5 yrs was more of a nostalgia trip. My only disappointment was the size of the peanut brittle. The jar is much smaller now. This one cost 220. Cashew brittle was smaller at ₱250, and the jar was almost the same size as the 3-for-100 jars in Mines View before, so I didn’t buy anymore. Taste-wise though, still the best peanut brittle.
For the ube, it’s no longer the glistening type but the more milky type sold in San Pablo City, Laguna.
During the day there’s a traffic lookout, which was very helpful as the store is located in a wide but almost blind corner. The lookout helps you get into and out of the driveway onto the highway safely."
