What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mount Ulap is widely praised for its beginner-friendly trails and breathtaking scenery, making it a highly recommended hike. Visitors love the picturesque rolling hills and iconic Gungal Rock. However, be prepared for significant crowds, especially on weekends, which can lead to long waits for photos.
"Went last May on a weekend. The hike itself is relatively easy and is definitely beginner-friendly. There are so many photo spots, but it was also very crowded. We waited almost 2hrs to get a picture at the famous rock formation but still didn't get the chance because we had to descend due to the weather.
Nevertheless, the mountain is very picturesque. Since it's in the Mountain Province, it wasn't that hot, but I would still recommend bringing a hat or an umbrella as there are segments with no trees or shade at all."

"Went here last June 12, 2025, and it was raining that day, and the locals did mention that it has been raining days before. Started our hike at 6AM, arrived at the peak at 10AM, pacing was due to no exercise, could be better and faster if we prepared for the hike in advance 😅😅😅 it was rainy and foggy all the way up to the summit, thankfully it cleared a bit when we arrived at the summit.
Locals say its better to go there during Ber months when its not raining as the mountains offer a very good view of Pangasinan and La Un"

"So, our adventure kicked off super early at 3:30 am in Baguio. We got to the school gym around 5:00 am for registration and a quick orientation. It was pretty cool 'cause they sell hiking sticks there, which are actually awesome souvenirs afterward! They also had caps, water, and even pancakes if you were feeling peckish.
Just wanted to share a quick rundown of what I spent: ₱100 for registration, another ₱100 for parking, ₱800 for our awesome tour guide (worth every peso!), ₱90 for the environmental fee, and ₱400 for the car ride back to where we started.
A little tip: you might wanna pack a rice meal, or you could just grab some grub at the canteen near the summit. And if you're a snacker like me, definitely bring some treats!
Oh my goodness, the sunrise was absolutely breathtaking! It took us about 3 hours to hike up to the summit and another 3 hours to get back down. Our guide mentioned that folks who are more experienced hikers usually take around 4 hours. For us beginners, it was more like 6 to 8 hours, but totally doable!
Honestly, this was such a fun experience, and I'd absolutely love to do it again. It's also a really great hike if you're just starting out! 😊"
