"For nearly forty years after its unveiling in 1904, Deluge fountain depicting the Genesis flood narrative in the bible was one of the prides of the city.
However in 1943 its bronze sculptures were confiscated and melted down for the German war effort, and it wouldn’t be until 2004 that Bydgoszcz could think about a restoration.
Process took 10 years, and this vital piece of the city’s heritage was officially unveiled in 2014, 110 years after the original.
