What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the soothing and majestic roar of Łomniczka Waterfall, calling the area very beautiful and a great stop on the way to Śnieżka. However, many note significant trail closures, particularly the red trail, due to broken bridges and snow, requiring caution and adaptability.
"As at 30 March 2024 red trail (Główny Szlak Sudecki) is closed from Schronisko Nad Łomniczką to Dom Śląski. Even if you ignore the sign and walk through (as we did ;)) you will find that bridge via the flow near Wodospad Łomniczki is broken. And if you manage to get across the stream (as we did ;)) you should be careful as further trail is partially covered by snow so you don't see what's under. It was really exciting adventure).
Once you get to Dom Śląski there is well made road to the top of Snezka.
You can get back to Karpacz via Szlak pieszy czarny which is much simpler."

🎫 🏞️ Onsite Experience
The hiking time can vary significantly depending on your starting point in Karpacz and the specific trail you take. From Schronisko Nad Łomniczką, the waterfall is a short distance. However, reaching the shelter itself can take 1-2 hours or more.
The difficulty ranges from moderate to challenging, especially if trails are affected by snow or damage. The path to Dom Śląski, often closed, can be particularly tricky. Be prepared for uneven terrain and elevation gain.
Schronisko Nad Łomniczką and Dom Śląski are mountain huts that typically offer basic facilities, including restrooms and refreshments. These are your best bet for services near the waterfall.
During summer, the easier paths can be manageable for families. However, due to potential hazards like snow, broken bridges, and steep sections, it's best to assess conditions and the children's capabilities carefully.
Wear sturdy hiking boots with good grip, especially if there's snow or wet conditions. Layers of clothing are recommended, as mountain weather can change quickly. Waterproof gear is also a good idea. :hiking_boot: ☁️

Early morning or late afternoon light can offer beautiful, soft illumination for capturing the waterfall's majesty. Avoid midday sun for less harsh shadows. :camerawithflash:
A wide-angle lens is great for capturing the scale of the waterfall and its surroundings. A tripod can be useful for longer exposures to create a silky water effect, especially in lower light. 📷
The main viewing area is directly accessible from the trail. For different perspectives, explore slightly off the main path (safely) or consider the views from higher up near Dom Śląski looking down. :mountain_view:
