What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Fort Benedict offers a glimpse into Krakow's historical fortifications, with potential for an adventurous exploration. While some visitors find it abandoned and neglected, those who take official tours praise the historical insights and affordability. The site's condition is a recurring concern, with many hoping for better preservation.
"We noticed this when walking last the Podgorza museum. There is a pathway up past the old cemetery and a place where you can slip through the fence to walk around the fort. Shame not to go in, but still a nice little off track adventure."
Donna Mann
"Not sure how to find out about tours but it's definitely not closed or abandoned. We fell lucky and saw people inside. Full tour for 10 zl per person is well worth it. One of guides speaks English. Well wortha visit. Apparently not important enough to be renovated but slow work to keep the building open is on going. Shame this place isnt protected. ."
Chris Botham
"Place has a lot of potential and looks really cool. However, it also appears abandoned, not taken care of and going to waste. Also looks like it is being slowly destroyed by people going through the fence and getting in, spraying on graffiti, leaving trash around. A real shame. Could be really great place to visit if someone took care of it."
