Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Old Jewish Cemetery for its profound historical significance and unique, atmospheric landscape. The layered burials and monumental tombstones are highlights, offering a powerful glimpse into centuries of Jewish life and tradition. Some find the access arrangements and locked sections a minor inconvenience, but the overall experience is deeply moving and educational.
"To access the cemetery you can get keys from the Hote Ilan (Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin). Unfortunately the cemetery was plowed over by the Nazis, so all the graves in the cemetery are postwar. There are a few memorials. Note that if you are looking to visit Rabbi Tzadok Hacohen, or Rabbi Avraham and Leibele Eiger's grave, you need to walk alongside the new outer gate from the inside until you reach the end."

"By far the best, nicest, cleanest, most inspirational and salvation seeing ohel and kever I've been by in the entire eastern Europe!!! The heilege toras emes Zy"a!! R leibeleh Eiger ztzvkll"h, holiest of the holy! Son of hagoan r shlomo Eiger ztz"l and grandson of raban shel kol bnei hagolah, hagoan hakodesh mareinu r akiva eiger ztzvkll"h Zy"a. Also the toras emes had a heilege son in law r yisroel Zytman he is buried in this cemetery but because of the natzis yemach shemom his grave was destroyed unfortunately, (his popular sefer Ezras yisroel is out of print unfortunately). No words can describe the feelings in the ohel. Beautiful ohel, great job by mishpachas Sontag for undertaking the zchus to renew the ohel. Key can be obtained from chachmei lublin front desk. And also don't forget r tzadok hakohen and the shevet meyehuda-r avraham Ben r leibeleh Eiger Zy"a, so deep. Bez"h soon we'll have a heimeshe hachnosas orchim here (with a hot mikva)."
