"The monastery was built around 1328 in the Gothic style. In 1534, the monastery was dissolved as a result of the Reformation, and a teacher's college was established in the buildings. Around 1583, it was transformed into a princely hunting lodge. By the 17th century, the building was already a ruin, and in the 1960s, the upper floors were demolished. What remained was a so-called permanent ruin, entered into the register of historical monuments in 1958 under number 310. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to legally enter the building 😉"

"The ruins of the Augustinian monastery are located in Jasienica, right next to the Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul, dating from around 1400. The monastery was built in the early 14th century and survived World War II in good condition. Today, only the ruins remain, with the beautiful Gothic arcades still visible. Next to the ruins is a beautiful miniature of the Steffen Mill, which stood on this very spot, destroyed during the war. It's well worth seeing."
