What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the stunning views of the Old Town and Vistula River from the historic 14th-century fortifications. The unique inclusion of a list of movies filmed in Sandomierz is a notable highlight for many. However, some find the entry fee a bit steep for the relatively short visit, and the narrow stairs can lead to congestion during busy periods.
"Seems that every such tower in Poland is trying to extract as much as possible from tourists. I guess the view is great but for 6zl at most 10 minutes of visiting seems overpriced. Granted, it's not as bad as the one in Torun, at least here they put some info about the town on the walls, part of it in English but not that much. For cinema lovers, and this was the highlight for me, there is a list of movies made in Sandomierz, in Polish but I found that very useful.
View of the city, the Vistula and all the green even in early winter is really gorgeous. I was alone visiting but right after me came a group of 50 pensioners, took me 15 minutes to get out as the stairs are very cramped. Could be a nuisance to visit in high season because it's quite cramped"

"Very big and impressive gate but the view was a big disappointment. Picture below is a cut frame as the roof has some big walls that block most of the visual field. Still is a nice place to get a good glimpse of the town and river."

"Great view."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
However, parents should be aware of the narrow and steep stairs, which require close supervision of younger children. The potential for congestion means keeping a close eye on kids to prevent them from getting separated. While the views are nice, the limited unobstructed panoramas might be less engaging for very young children compared to more open spaces. Consider it a short, historical exploration rather than an all-day activity.
🎬 Film Enthusiasts
Exploring the 14th-century fortifications themselves provides a historical backdrop that often features in period dramas or films set in historic European towns. Imagine the scenes that might have been shot against these very walls, adding an extra layer of appreciation to your visit.
🚶♀️ Budget Travelers
While some find the duration of the visit short for the price, the stunning views and the historical significance of the fortifications are often considered worth the small cost. It's a great way to add a historical dimension to your trip without breaking the bank.
