What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Forest Opera boasts a stunning natural amphitheater setting, praised for its magical atmosphere, especially for pagan music concerts. However, visitors have noted significant drawbacks including overpriced tickets, disappointing acoustics for some shows, limited and low-quality food options, and accessibility issues with restrooms and parking.
"The venue is beautiful but the tickets were overpriced for the concert I booked for .
I went to see Rock Ballads with two children and one disabled person on wheelchair. No discount for any of them which was very disappointing .
I paid about 500 PLN for two adults, elderly disabled person and two small children.
Staff was very attentive and helpful , the acoustics was a huge disappointment .
I was expecting a great show but what I found was 10 youngsters in the middle of the scene playing instruments . No singing , zero effort in dress code from the musicians which for this price I would expect . The musicians were occupying 1/20 th area of the scene with all place around empty . Looked ridiculous. No atmosphere what so ever, sound was also below average . Literally waste of money !
The place is accessible for wheelchair but only for sitting and watching and not in regards to toilets so if the wheelchair user have to use a bathroom you can go back home for that . Also there are only two parking spots of disabled person’s cars next to the entrance even though there was plenty of space for more.
So you need to drop disabled person up the hill to the gates…. Then drive back to park your car and come up again up the hill on foot ! Parking ( if you find a space) will charge you for the whole day even though you coming only for 2 h concert .
There is couple of food stands there to grab zapiekanka or fries or beer , that’s all. No choice of any other snacks or food . Zapiekanka quality was very low, lots of cheese but almost no mushrooms ."

"Lovely amphitheater in park, surrounded by nature. It will be better to open more coffee shops or restaurants in entertainment time, people have to wait too long to buy something."

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Consider the type of performance carefully; a lively concert might be more engaging than a quiet, acoustic set. Book tickets in advance to ensure you get seats that work for your family. Be prepared for the limited restroom facilities if you have young children who need frequent access. Exploring the surrounding park can be a great way to entertain kids before or after a show.
♿️ Visitors with Mobility Concerns
Parking is also a concern, with very few designated spots. It's advisable to arrange for a drop-off at the entrance and then find parking, which may involve a walk uphill. Planning your arrival and departure carefully, and perhaps contacting the venue beforehand to discuss specific needs, is highly recommended for a smoother experience.
🎶 Music Enthusiasts
However, it's crucial to research the specific performers and the nature of their show. While some find the acoustics surprisingly good, others have been disappointed, particularly with the sound quality for certain types of music or if the focus is not on vocals. Managing expectations regarding sound and stage presence will enhance your enjoyment.

The Magic of Forest Opera Performances
However, it's important to manage expectations regarding acoustics. While some find the sound quality surprisingly good for an outdoor venue, others have noted it as a significant disappointment, especially for vocal-heavy shows. The visual aspect of the performances, with musicians often occupying only a portion of the stage, has also drawn mixed reactions.
When planning your visit, always check the specific event details. The success of the show is heavily dependent on the performers and the type of music. For those seeking a truly unique concert experience surrounded by nature, the Forest Opera is a compelling choice, but understanding its nuances is key to a satisfying visit.
Navigating Accessibility and Amenities
Parking is another area where visitors have expressed concerns. There are only a couple of designated disabled parking spots near the entrance, and even general parking can be scarce and costly, with charges often for the full day regardless of visit duration. This necessitates careful planning, potentially involving drop-off arrangements for disabled individuals and then parking further away.
For those with specific accessibility needs, it's advisable to contact the venue directly in advance to discuss options and potential challenges. While the natural beauty of the location is a major draw, these practical considerations are crucial for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Culinary Delights (or Lack Thereof)
The quality of the available food has also been a point of contention. Some reviews mention that the zapiekanka, for instance, was heavy on cheese but lacked other key ingredients like mushrooms, suggesting a decline in quality. This has led to suggestions from visitors to expand the food and beverage offerings, perhaps by opening more coffee shops or restaurants during event times.
For a more satisfying dining experience, it's recommended to explore the numerous restaurants and cafes available in the nearby Sopot town center. These offer a much wider range of culinary choices to suit various tastes and budgets, making it a better option for a full meal before or after attending a performance.
