What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Vistula River Museum interesting, particularly its detailed focus on waterway transport history and maritime artifacts. While the content is rich for those who read Polish, the lack of English translations is a notable drawback for international visitors. The museum is engaging enough to captivate children, suggesting a broader appeal than initially perceived.
"I found it very nice and interesting. I would recommend it. The complete visit took us about two hours. We visited the museum and the centre of conservation."

"With my 6yo son... we couldn't make it past first exhibition room - because everything there made him so interested he was asking questions, going back, returning to previous things... so limited 1.5h we had was definietly not enough."
Adas Lesniak
"Opinion concerns museum's permanent exposition which I suppose is the main one (we were not told about other expositions at least). Presentation is OK, content too narrow for us. The museum name is `Vistula Museum' but it should be `Museum of waterway transport on the Vistula and other Polish waterways' rather. So other activities (fishing for example) are marginally covered as well as flora/fauna etnography, settlement etc... Instead transport history is presented in details from anciet times till present with particular attention to boat and ships used (but some information of sailors is presented as well). Separate room for history of the first Naval School in Poland which was later moved to Gdynia and separate building with large yachts, boats and ship fragments (incl. 6m long wooden rudder)"
