What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the Church of the Immaculate Conception for its spiritual atmosphere, beautiful altar, and historical significance dating back to 1912. Some locals note the early morning church bells as a distinctive, though sometimes disruptive, feature of the neighborhood.
"A weekday. 6:15 AM. Church bells wake up the entire neighborhood. If I wanted to wake up at that time, I'd set an alarm. And then I'm so surprised that people are leaving church. Complete disrespect and ignorance."
Piotr
"Maybe there's a reason why those bells are ringing, and secondly, there's no longer a curfew at 6:15 a.m. People walking the streets at night and shouting also make noise, and no one bothers them, and anything related to the church is a nuisance."
Anna Szczygieł
"A nice church. I'm from the "neighbors," meaning I'm from the neighboring parish, but I sometimes visit here on various occasions (whether shared or not) or for various reasons.
Located in the older part of the Piaskowa Góra district – on what is now Cardinal S. Wyszyński Street (formerly Thelmana Street).
Nice altar, beautiful decor. The church is larger than mine. And probably the first truly Catholic church on Piaskowa Góra from the very beginning. Over a hundred years old (1912). Later expanded. Ceremonies and decorations are carefully prepared. And in the confessional one time, I felt such kindness, such gentleness – I don't know how to properly describe it now after some time, but an elderly priest (probably the parish priest – the current one) was there at the time.
Next to it is a small cemetery.
From the outside, the entrance to St. Maximilian's Chapel, but I don't know if it's open."
