Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Hochberg Mausoleum's ceiling frescoes and the crypts of the Hochberg family to be historically significant and visually interesting. However, the requirement for a separate ticket, in addition to the castle and garden entry fees, is a common point of contention for many.

"Inside the mausoleum, it is worth paying attention to the paintings on the ceiling; in each corner there is a work inspired by one of the four seasons.
After going down the stairs, you can admire the burial place of the former owners of the Książ castles.

The only downside is that you have to buy a ticket to get inside (with such high prices for visiting the castle and gardens, you could skip it). There is a machine for buying tickets at the entrance."

Iza Ć.

"Entering the Książ Landscape Park, we pass the Hochberg Mausoleum, built in 1734 as a summer pavilion and viewing point. It was not until 1883 that it was converted into a mausoleum. Among those buried here are the daughter of Princess Daisy and Hans Heinrich XV, Hans Heinrich XI, his two wives, and Daisy von Pless herself.

In 1945, when the Soviets entered, the Hochbergs' servants carried out the bodies. Their fate, however, remains unknown."
