"Capela mandada construir em 1577 por particular, Dr. Afonso Figueiredo, para acolher o respetivo jazigo e de sua mulher. Suplanta parte da área do antigo hospital do Espírito Santo, o qual possuía já uma pequena capela, conforme documentação de início do século XVI.
