Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the superb walks and the opportunity to observe diverse birdlife, including Ospreys and Marsh Harriers. The scenic dyke and levee top paths offer unique perspectives. However, some trails have steep descents, and recent reports mention significant construction that may impact accessibility.

"Superb walk, challenging in some spots, specifically the drop down to the damn but you can start from the damn by driving and parking or you can walk there via the main road. We did not return over this section but rather walked to the main road and returned to Alvor this way. Follow the levy and then the path to the electric fence which you can manually remove to get past. Walk the train track for about 200 meters then rejoin the levy and return to the damn."

"Fascinating, short trail. Do read the boards. Steep descent to the dyke that then gives you access to levee top walks. Great for observing birds including Osprey and Marsh Harrier. You can do a circular walk and take in some Roman remains, visible using Google maps."

Just walked to this fisherman’s grotto/cave start point but the path along the ridge has been dug up and is impossible to pass safely such is the displaced soil from huge digging equipment.

Sadly no sign indicates huge works are in progress.

Do not expect this to be passable."
