Parque Infante Dom Pedro in Aveiro is a truly beautiful and charming space. It has everything you could want in an urban park: a peaceful lake with ducks, lovely old buildings, shaded areas, picnic spots, a playground, sports facilities, and even public bathrooms.
It could easily be one of the best parks in Portugal — but there’s a huge "but."
The park is extremely neglected. Many areas are damaged, dirty, and poorly maintained. Trash is often visible, structures are in bad shape, and it’s clear that regular cleaning and upkeep are lacking. It’s honestly very sad and disappointing to see such a wonderful space falling apart like this.
I really don’t understand why the Câmara Municipal doesn’t take better care of this park. It has incredible potential to be a true gem for locals and tourists alike, but it desperately needs attention and investment."

The weather is really great there. A green park with many types of trees with a beautiful lake in the middle.
There is also an lively bar inside..

"Originally developed in 1861 under the initiative of city council president Firmino Maia, the site began as a transformation of the former Campo de Santo António into a public promenade. The park took on its current layout and structures between 1925 and 1927, following a plan by Jacinto de Matos. Notable features include the white and blue azulejo tile panels in staircases, the Art Nouveau-style bandstand (Coreto), and the Mae de Água water tower. With expansive lawns and mature trees, the park offers a serene, almost arboretum-like setting. A pedestrian overpass, the Passarela, connects it conveniently to the nearby Parque da Baixa de Santo António, making it ideal for leisurely strolls."
