"This is the only surviving structure of the Antigo Castelo de Braga (former Braga Castle). A Gothic-style military tower, it stands 30 meters tall and contains three internal floors. Construction of the castle began in the 12th century during the reign of King Dinis of Portugal as part of a larger fortification effort. Additional work was carried out during the reign of King Fernando. The keep tower served as the central stronghold.
