Lisbon’s Baixa district, also known as downtown, is the heart of the city, where history meets modern life. Thanks to its flat terrain, it’s ideal for easy walks (a rare treat in Lisbon, the city of seven hills!). As you explore, you’re surrounded by elegant 18th-century architecture, rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake—every street echoes the city’s rich past. Today, Baixa is a lively, tourist-fr...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Baixa Downtown for its incredibly central location, beautiful renovations, and lively atmosphere, often enhanced by street music. However, some find the noise levels can be high, and certain bathroom designs in accommodations may lack privacy.

"Waked up by live street music every morning. Located at the center of the city. Have a small balcony. Very nice experience."

Haoyu Song

"The room was nice and well maintained. Very central and close to all the shops and restaurants. The one big downside is that the bathroom walls do not completely go up to the ceiling, so it’s completely open from the top. If you’re staying in the room with others, you will hear(and smell) everything."

Wael Abifaker

"Thoroughly renovated house with many vintage details and a high standard for design. Very friendly and highly responsive landlady (landladies, as several were available).

Totally quiet as we had the suite to the inner of the house with light from the roof (if you want to take a look outside and see streets, nothing for you)."
