Visitors consistently praise the Old Cathedral of Coimbra for its stunning, well-preserved Romanesque architecture and significant historical importance. Many highlight its fortress-like exterior and the value for money with its affordable entrance fee. Some note that access can be limited during church services, and recommend an audio guide for a richer experience.

"Golly gosh ! What a truly amazing building . I was able to get into the entrance part only that day as the church was closed to visitors at the time I arrived , the exterior architecture is amazing as is the part I seen inside . It still functions as a church but also a tourist attraction. This is a worth visit when you’re in this beautiful city ."

"Lovely cathedral to visit if in Coimbra, almost 900 old :) and still active. Entrance is only 2.50 € and probably there is a great audio guide but was in a hurry to check it out. Still well worth the visit if you like the ancient religion theme!"

Adam Maxwell

"Yes this is a special cathedral to visit and is a real must do whilst in the city of Coimbra . The architecture is simply stunning and it’s has been well preserved/maintained over the years , there is a cover charge to enter and I do recommend you pay it and enjoy the splendour of this amazing building . It was closing the day I was here and I was only able to get limited photos . But yes as I previously stated it’s a very worthwhile visit ."
