"Stumbled across this church when I noticed people entering ( I thought it was a municipal building!). Large church building absolutely packed with ornate carvings, painted and gilded. The more you look the more is revealed. Such attention to detail. Look up, the ceiling is amazing especially the first of three "domes" which are in fact trompe l'oeil and not domes at all. It's evident that no expense was spared in construction and decoration. A feast for the eyes. I think I was lucky to find this open? Not sure on opening times. Well worth a visit."
