Consider taking the train to Pinhao station; it's a beautiful way to see the Douro Valley.
Quinta de La Rosa is overwhelmingly praised for its breathtaking Douro Valley views, exceptional wine tours and tastings, and the unique grape stomping experience during harvest. Guests consistently highlight the friendly and knowledgeable staff, delicious dining options at both Tim's Terrace and Cozinha da Clara, and the serene ambiance of the hotel rooms and pools. It's considered a top destination for experiencing the heart of the Douro wine region.
"We had a wonderful three days here. Arrived on the train which is a lovely and simple way of seeing the Douro Valley and the beautiful station at Pinhao. Quinta de La Rosa is in a fantastic location with great views of the Douro Valley. The hotel rooms fit into the landscape linked by gardens and there are swimming pools to cool off if you get too hot and lots of loungers Our room included a very comfy bed and a good shower.
Our stay then included a most interesting visit to the winery including treading the wine - definitely a unique experience but limited to wine picking season - and some excellent local walks from hotel.
We also ate really well at both their restaurants. Snacks for both lunch and supper at Tim’s Terrace and the most delicious meal at the restaurant. It was beautifully presented. The breakfast was really good with lots of fresh fruit, homemade yoghurt and a variety of bread and croissants. The staff throughout our stay were very friendly. I can definitely recommend Quinta de la Rosa and hopefully will return to this beautiful part of the world"

"We stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon trip and we loved our stay here! Both Tim's Terrace and Cozinha da Clara were delicious restaurants. We went on a private wine tasting and tour with Patricia who was very helpful, kind, and passionate about the vineyard. We even had the opportunity to do grape stomping one night, which we will remember forever! The pool was fabulous and the views were breathtaking. Our room was very clean and had a beautiful view right from our balcony. If you are planning to visit the Duoro Valley, stay here! Thank you :)"

"Stayed here for 2 nights. Room 16 is gorgeous and built into the mountain and has slate walls in the bathroom. The views are stunning and service was amazing. We booked the wine tour and tasting with Patricia and she was so knowledgeable about every part of the wine and port making process from start to finish. It was the first day of harvest and so we also joined in on the grape stomping experience. This is a must do!! The crew sing and dance in formation while stomping me get you really involved. We also ate at the restaurant. Amazing food and stunning views!
5 stars all over."
