You don't need to pay 10 euros to go up by cable car because you can park right next to it, and both the parking lot and the church are free."

On the Saturday we went there was lots of activities for kids near the resteraunts and food stalls.
There is a funicular that you can use in either direction.
Lots of areas to walk and explore once youre at the top.
We took the train from Porto to Guimaraes, they only cost around €7 each way and takes around 1 hour."
