"This is a big church in central Horta, in some place between the harbour and Praia do Prim. The church vault above the sacristy has murals with the coat of arms of a dozen distinguished families of old Horta. Between them the family of the Flemish who colonised first the island and gave Horta its name. The square in front of the church has nice stonework, the kind of "calchada", in black and white."
