What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning panoramic views from the top of the Ascensor da Glória, often highlighting the free access hack as a brilliant money and time saver. While the tram ride itself is charming, many find the real value in the accessible viewpoint. Some note that the historic tram can be crowded and expensive for a short ride.
"This tram is one of the main attractions in Lisbon. Is it's basically and old tram that goes up or down the hill in a 2-min trip and that costs 4,20€. In my opinion it is a ripoff to charge that price for the ridiculously short trip. I only recommend this if you have the Lisbon card or the metro day pass (free access) and still beware of the lines as it takes 5-10 mins to arrive (there are 2 trams but the driver takes a rest at each stop) and only around 30 people fit in. It is actually more interesting walking up or down the street and watch the trams go by rather than riding them..."

"Biggest scam of the city. €4,20 for a 3 minute ride. Waste of money. My advice: take a picture, walk the street by yourself and buy a cold beer as a reward."

"Well if you are a first or second timer it is always good to take it for the top Miradouro. Short one but quite nice experience."
