What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Tapada das Necessidades for its serene beauty, free entry, and unique features like peacocks and a stunning greenhouse. It's praised as a peaceful local escape, offering a tranquil experience away from the city's hustle. Some note it can be a bit wild and less manicured than other parks, but this adds to its charm for many.
"Pretty neglected for the potential it has.
From dry vegetation that amounts, to destroyed/eroded pathways and all the buildings collapsing or ruined.
Among those a beautiful circular building with a greenhouse like glass roof, that by itself is worth the visit.
Just judge it too harshly by its state for it is in my opinion appealing as a rui ed site.
Can’t help to feel like patrimony is being lost without any concern or attempt to save it.
OVERALL IT IS FREE, so can’t really complain on the ticket price 😂
Therefore the relation price to quality of experience is actually juicy better than the Belém Botanical garden.
Also quite awesome if one is into urban ruin exploring!"

"I really liked this park, it is located a little away from the city center, therefore, there are very few people here and it is clean. There are several picnic tables, peacocks and ducks are walking, a beautiful view of the bridge, a lot of exotic plants and it's just nice to walk here."

"A very wonderful and beautiful park.
- Diverse plants, interesting landscape, lots of greenery, and a fairly large area for walking.
- There are buildings and fountains. They are partially abandoned but very atmospheric.
- There is a lawn where people sunbathe in good weather.
- Chickens, geese, peacocks, and cats roam freely around the area.
- The park also has a restroom and an enclosed area for dog walking"
