Many appreciate its authentic, historical atmosphere and its connection to 'House of the Dragon.' The steep, cobblestone paths are a common point of caution, emphasizing the need for good footwear.
"Super glad to have driven here! The stones and the little town on the top of the hill was so cool! Way more cool than the photos made it seem. We did find parking very easily a bit down the hill - parking was free in October.
To be clear, it is on the top of a hill, so you are walking a somewhat steep hill on cobblestones.
It was not too busy in any area of the village or top castle."

"Went up to watch the sunset. Beautiful views and impressive how much of the castle is still intact.
Easy climb but a bit slippery and steep because of the old cobblestones and sand. Wear proper shoes or be really careful especially coming down.
Also did not know Monsanto and the castle were sets for House of Dragon. So that was a nice surprise."
Khym Kim
"Sunset and sunrise are the best moments of the day. Not too far from town. I still think it could be done better (like all the signs with information written about items are hard to read)"
