Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Ponta do Sossego, highlighting its immaculately maintained botanical gardens and breathtaking panoramic ocean views. The free parking and picnic facilities are a major plus, though some note the toilets could be cleaner. The presence of friendly cats adds to its charm.

"Amazing place to stop, and check the breathtaking view on the sorounding cliffs.

There is a park, which is very well maintained. Also parking is free, and inside there are multiple spots with a roof, table and chairs, to eat, drink and spend time with your friends. There is also a toilet.

Parking space is right by the main road, so be careful when you exit the parking place. If you are able to park the car with the back of the car in direction to the park entrance, it will be much easier to drive out at the end."

"Miradouro da Ponta do Sossego, located on São Miguel Island, is truly a unique botanical paradise. From the moment you arrive, you're struck by how immaculately maintained everything is; it's clear a lot of care goes into preserving its beauty. The sheer variety of plants, flowers, and trees is astounding, with each specimen seemingly more exquisite than the last. It's a vibrant tapestry of colors and textures that you could explore for hours.

The panoramic views are simply breathtaking. You're treated to a spectacular vista of the vast Atlantic Ocean, the rugged coastline, and dramatic cliffs that plunge into the sea. It's the kind of scenery that makes you want to linger, to soak in every detail, and honestly, you might find yourself never wanting to leave.

Adding to the charm are the resident distinctive cats, who seem to perfectly complement the serene atmosphere. This isn't just a viewpoint; it's a meticulously cared-for haven that truly embodies the natural splendor of the Azores."
