Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the breathtaking views from the cable car and the dramatic coastal scenery at the bottom. The affordable price and the unique experience of exploring the old village are highly praised. However, some travelers have been frustrated by unexpected closures due to wind or maintenance, and parking can be difficult.
"I believe that taking this teleférico is one of the best experiences I had on the Madeira trip. I was afraid at first, and I decided to go. The view of the mountain, cliff, beach, waves are all wow, amazing, and stunning. I do not remember how much I paid, but it is worth the ride. We have time to spend some minutes once we arrive down part of the hill. There is a village where you can visit to check. Then, the teleférico will take us up the hill again. Amazing amazing just amazing! The visit was in February 2023. It is still in my memory."

"Perfect way to spend a couple of hours taking in the ocean views. I recommend that you time your visit right as the cable car attendant takes a lunch break in which case you may need to stay longer by the beach (which is what we did). The price is affordable, you can park for free on the street and use the restrooms available by the cable car entrance."

"We tried it twice and couldn't get a ride. First day: Operation was stopped, because it was too windy. I can accept that. Other day: Operation was stopped during the day, because of maintenance- during main season and peak time. Can't be planned maintenance, so this doesn't feel very safe. And: No information about anything online...."
