Reviews Summary

Pego das Pias is lauded as a beautiful, magical natural destination perfect for hiking and swimming in clean river waters. Visitors appreciate the abundant wildlife and the opportunity for a digital detox. However, the challenging access road, requiring an SUV or 4WD, and the potential for crowds on weekends are noted drawbacks.

"Very nice hike along the river if you love walking and a bit of climbing rocks. Multiple places to take a swim. We did get in there by car and quite luckily maneuvered through rocks and potholes back and forth without any problem. But definitely would recommend a suv and preferably 4-wheel drive. We did see someone driving in there with a van but we have no idea whether he actually got out. The access with car is doable but for sure dependent on the weather and the season."

"Absolutely beautiful. Definitely worth the visit, call it a destination walking space.
Not only are the views stunning but there is also a lot of wildlife to be seen. From the usual suspects; fish and lizards, to the less commonly seen water snakes and turtles.
If you’re a little more adventurous perhaps you’ll dive into the refreshing water from the rocks or take up a couple of canoes and enjoy a leisurely paddle in the calm waters.
However you enjoy nature you’ll love it here."

Rachael Hagland

"Excellent place for a hike and a swim. Can be busy if you go during school holidays or on the weekend. Some roads leading up are quite inaccessible with poor quality to drive down. Better to go with higher based cars. Dogs must be on leads during the hike from the car parking to the swimming areas."
