Foi fundada em 1594, mas só em 1690 que é que se concluiu a obra. O grande terramoto de 1755 provou grandes danos numa das abóbadas.
Fazem parte do espólio da igreja duas bonitas esculturas, uma de pedra de Ançã do século XV, representando um santo bispo, e a outra, de madeira, representa uma Senhora das Dores da 2ª metade do século XVIII. Destaca-se ainda uma custódia de prata dourada, dos séculos XVII-XVIII, uma píxide, igualmente de prata dourada e da 2ª metade do século XVIII, e ainda um cálice da mesma época."
