Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Peneda-Gerês for its stunning natural beauty, particularly its waterfalls and rugged landscapes, making it ideal for scenic drives and hiking. However, some find the park lacks sufficient parking, clear signage on trails, and convenient amenities like cafes and restrooms, suggesting a need for better infrastructure.

"Our tour through Peneda-Gerês was absolutely incredible from start to finish!

Between the breathtaking waterfalls, crystal-clear lagoons, scenic hiking trails, refreshing swims, and the unique experience of visiting the wolf village, every moment was unforgettable. Riding through the park in a vintage Land Rover made it all feel like a true adventure.

What truly made the day special, though, was our guide, Cata. She was not only extremely knowledgeable about the park, the wildlife, and the history of the wolf village, but also incredibly friendly and FUN to be around. Her passion for both the adventure and her deep connection to the village shone through in everything she shared, which made the experience feel authentic and personal.

Thanks to Cata’s energy, enthusiasm, and expertise, we didn’t just see Peneda-Gerês—we felt it. I would 100% do this tour again and would absolutely request Cata as our guide. Highly recommend!

"Excellent hiking areas. Crystal clear water.

Check the trail conditions before going out. On some of the trails, I’d recommend brining long pants to mitigate the thorns. If nothing else, definitely long socks!"

Sean Deaton

"Love it, absolutely stunning place with no people or any civilisation. Empty roads, delicious coffee, and local food. Everywhere, free-roaming cows and horses. Beautiful mountains, crystal clear waters and deep pine forests."
