"Good spot for watching sea and shorebirds."

"Took train to Vila Real de Santo Antonio , we were going to go to Spain using the river ferry. Decided against it as ferry had reduced times. Had a snack at a small cafe then head to the beach past numerous fisher people looking for their dinner. Walked from Foz do Guadiana to Monte Gorde along the beach. Just beautiful, weather about 20°c very light winds. Beach walk was about 3 miles. Local fisherman's boats were on beach as have no harbour, boats launched from beach using tractor. Later walked up to station through older part of town. Nicer smaller houses. There is a marsh land near the station so viewed the Flamingos and Coots and other bird life. Such a wonderfull place. Then headed back on train to Cabanas de Tavira. Would really recommend this beach walk, just fab. 😁😬😜🤪😜🤪"
