Trek Smart: Gear Up for the Hike

Reviews Summary

Survival Beach is a stunning, secluded destination praised for its dramatic cliffs and pristine sand, making the challenging hike incredibly rewarding. Visitors highlight the raw natural beauty and unique rock formations, though caution strongly against swimming due to dangerous currents. The trek requires proper footwear and preparation, but the breathtaking views and sense of adventure make it a highly recommended experience.

"This place is worth the hike. Yes some people will use sandals. Its absolutely not a good idea. Simply from the fact that rocks are very sharp all along the 30+ min. hike. You will go up, and down, and around and climb and be exposed to tripping hazards and... It's totally worth it. But be aware. Bring water, a snack, good shoes and snorkeling gear. The water can be rough and deceiving. The beach and rock formations are stunning. Highly recommended with caution."

"Very difficult hike but the views at the end are worth it! We arrived early in the morning to try and beat the heat, but the humidity still made the hike much harder. Definitely recommend hiking boots and plenty of water. There was a lot of free parking and cool to watch the surfers catching the morning waves. Saw many hermit crabs and lizards on the trail."

Amy Cyr

"Parked up at surfers beach and then took the trail from the end of the parking lot. If you are not local or used to the heat, be aware that it's about a 30 mins trek in rough terrain. Some steep negotiating. Consider you are walking through trees, so don't leave it too late to return!
Having said that it is well worth the walk. The beach is amazing and almost desolate. Like others have said, don't be tempted to go in the water, rip currents do prevail. Walk the whole length of the beach and you'll find a large shallow rock pool. Use that!
Great spot to visit, if you have a fair element of fitness and a little more than sliders on your feet!"
